About

What About Treme? is not a place for episode recaps, off-camera gossip, or concerned spoiler alerts. It is a place for everything else. We will endeavor to explore all dimensions of David Simon’s and HBO’s Treme. That means examining the series through the lenses of our culture, politics, history, and own personal experiences. It also means examining those things through the lens of the series.

Some of us have seen The Wire, others have not. Some of us have visited New Orleans, others have not. Two of us were born in Los Angeles, one in Spokane, and one in Kansas City.Two of us live in Seattle, one in New York, and the other in LA. We are a grad student, a fact-checker for a major magazine, an Arabic linguist, and –currently – an employee of the 2010 Census. We’ve all done a fair amount of writing before. We hope you enjoy, and participate in, this project.
